I just introduced myself as a new member on this forum. I’m playing for 6 months now and here is my progress video. And you can see who I am ? All feedback is welcome, I can learn from it!
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about dancing in the rain!!

Welcome, you sound great, especially for the short time you've been playing...Amazing job!

mookje, HI!
I really like your repertoire... and like Mark said, good intonation... I will try to focus more on that myself.
You commented on my latest video and said it reminded you to use more of the bow from tip to frog. Well, do as I say, not as I do. In your bowing technique, your upper arm is quite calm... which is good, according to my teacher. I think I need to have my upper arm more like yours... nice and chill
tot ziens,
Holly

Hi Holly,
Nice to hear that you like my repertoire. As a beginner I really like to play short tunes, so when I know a few phrases then I’m already near to the end ? It motivates me to practice on intonation and playing by ear.
My upper arm is not always calm, still working on it. As many, many other things ? For how long are you playing now?
greetings Mookje

@mookje Getting close to 3 months... pretty addicting. Nice to be retired and have plenty of time I'm just to the point where I'm starting to like the sound of my violin to the point where I now always play it without the orchestra mute.
The down side of having plenty of time to practice is ... of course, over practicing. Besides the neck-shoulder-left hand strain, it's really wrecking havoc on my golf game. Worse things could happen, LOL. I have checked out some threads on the forum which describe putting some discipline into practicing (more structured and with breaks in between) so I'm trying to integrate those and "behave".
I'm surprised how gratifying spending so much time alone practicing is since I'm actually love hanging out with other people. I guess I'll just have to improve to the point where I can play with others Hope springs eternal.

@Fiddlerman Thanks a lot for the feedback, I’m gonna work on my right elbow! I know playing the violin is very difficult and that things not going perfect in the beginning but it’s hard to decide when it’s good enough for the time your playing. I’m not easily satisfied about my playing!
You may move my video to the critique topic if you can!
Yes, the dragonfly is nice but I removed him, I’ve got a beautiful metal violin hanging now with music notes.
This forum is great, so much to read, listen and learn!!
@coolpinkone Thanks a lot Toni!
