Trying to get a good steady rhythm throughout this one. Any advice or comments? :)

I was counting beats as I listened and did not hear. problem with it. I was also tapping my foot to it. It was very good.

If you are thinking there is an issue, I am not hearing it. Maybe someone qith better fiddling timing will have a better war, but I don't think I was adjusting my foot tapping to your playing  to tap my foot to your timing and beat. I think your beat and riming was on target.

Again, you re such a natural in your videos.

Thank you! This is my own tune and I sometimes get so bogged down in the composition of the individual phrases that I lose the overall feeling of the correct rhythm. Or I end up with a tune that's impossibly jumpy and non-standard :)

by the way, I couldnt hear anything wrong with the timing, and I also thought the ornamentation was spot on.

@Little Prairie Girl Beautiful composition & great playing!

Your rhythm is on--maybe if you accent on the 1st (& possibly the 3rd) beats of the measures?  To help drive the steadiness that you're looking for?

Who is Captain Grover?

Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.

Thank you all! Captain John Grover was in the American Revolution, and, he’s my seven-times great Grandfather! So I wrote it as a March and tried to give it a colonial/1700’s sound. How do you all think I did?

@Little Prairie Girl -

I think it sounds like it could've been a popular tune during that time period - LOVED it!

Don't know if all Marches have to be as forceful & driving as "Johnny Came Marching Home".  Thought they were originally meant to energize troops, to keep them moving/ready for battle?

Sorry, between what I've seen military trainees march to and recent discussions I've had here on the forum, I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between a March, a Hornpipe, or a Polka anymore! (lol)

It's definitely Marchable.

I love everything you've presented so far - please keep them coming!

Btw, have you seen our "Party Room"?

All Parties are ongoing - so if you know a tune that fits, I hope you'll join some. 😊
