Thanks all for the kind commemts really appreciated;)
Katie, you have to be careful with vibrato, in how much you use it and also the width of the vibration, narrow quick sometimes suits these type of tunes, but sometimes very wide and slow do the trick, its a balancing act, in my opinion that is, others may think differently, we all have our own way. why not try this one yourself? its a good tune for practicing all kinds of things, I heard a very good fiddler on you tube play this one, a couple of days ago, I listened to how he played it, then I read it in O neils, because I wasnt sure how he had done certain things, I then played it twice and recorded it twice, a different version I did is on another forum, with more double stops, but I prefered this one which is why i posted it here, for me this forum comes above the others mainly because no one is pretentious, on here, no divas, lol I have since done this a couple more times as my intonation wasnt very good on this recording, and I have also put more ornamentation in it I wont be reposting it though once is enough now. Hope its given you a few things to think about, by the way there are words to this if you are interested written by Robert Burns

I like this tune @stringy! I Havent played on fiddle but am familiar with the tune.. since you asked in your heading the only thing I can offer is to maybe hold the note a little longer between phrases and give each section a little space. this is not meant as critisism in anyway and im guilty of rushing or cutting notes short as much as anyone.. ..probably worse. but I think this one could use that.

Good advice Greg, I will try out your suggestions . when playing and listening to my own recordings I dont notice things, so thats what I want to hear, constructive advice.
There are a lot of things I need to practice in my playing, and sometimes I can get a bit shortsighted, thanks for the reply, much appreciated.
