Thank you @fiddlinsteudel.  I'm bowing with the metronome, as you suggested.  On the G string my arm is stretched out and I can't quite get to the tip of the bow with all fingers on the stick.  I can make it if only my thumb and first finger are gripping the bow.  I moved my hand hand up on the bow a smidgen and I can get within an inch of the tip.  After more practice, I will do a video so that I can be critiqued on the bow strokes.
