Hey 2nd, great job. You have a really good start going. I would suggest slowing down the bowing, even for the fast songs. Slow down until you can get that smooth sound, then start to speed up the tempo. Your Rose of Sharon was getting some really good sound. Keep up the good work!
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

I am hearing progress. I applaud you for playing up to tempo. I think you have a lot of irons in the fire.. a lot of songs... I think one of these days with all this great practice you will have a fine set of fiddle songs.
You have a teach, so I will let the teacher do the teaching. I do recognize the songs you are playing.
Do you practice a set of songs..or one song over and over for a while? I am always curious. I tend to pick a new song..and work on it for 30 mins a day... the last part of my practice I play my whole set of songs. I have started my practices now with a bit of scales and bowing.
Thanks for posting. (dang spider!!!) I just finished watching Vy W. play Spider bit the baby. (that title just kills me).
thumbs up!!!
Vibrato Desperato.... Desperately seeking vibrato

@Georganne thanks! Yeah, I need to also practice with a metronome more. Whenever I sit down and do it I improve, but I hate doing it lol.
@coolpinkone actually, I appreciate advice from anyone. Unless it's something my teacher says to absolutely not do, I'll do it or at least run it by him first. When I practice I usually start out with playing open strings while focusing on not moving my shoulder to warm up (rosinedup mentioned in the chat that I'm still doing it). Then ill do scales and then go through my songs. I'll start with the basic version and then gradually move up to the more advanced version. If I make a mistake I'll stop and play that section of the song correctly a few times before adding it back in to thee full song. Then I'll work on the song in currently learning. Sometimes if I find myself going out of time I'll go through scales again. And sometimes I'll make a mistake in a song which reminds me of another song and try and pick that out lol.
thanks for the critique!
