Hi, a quick note that I was thinking of you all during my jam last night with the Saranac Lake Ceilidh (irish jam session). There are some world class fiddlers there and last night we had one of the 5 time national champion for irish pipes there. He lives half the year in Lake Placid and half the year in Ireland. Back to the point, so we're all jamming to various tunes, and you should have seen me, holding the violin correctly with my fingers doing what fiiddlerman says to do in the many videos I watched, being careful with intonation and posture. Suddenly I get a comment from one of the veterans, "hey how are you getting so good on that "orange" violin over there? (perhaps a slight put down of my pupil instrument, which is tinny and shrilll, and admittedly has a tad too much orange in the paint. My answer - "well, Fiddlerman is an exacting teacher and demands excellence, I'm just doing what I'm told." Many good compliments!

Right on!!!! That is cool...... Thanks for the heads up on the backhanded comments on the orange violin.... I would have probably went off on a five minute Segway on the color of my violin and how it matches my digs and I can see how they think it us orange but the reds are really more dominate. Lol
Vibrato Desperato.... Desperately seeking vibrato

OK, you got me... I *did* in fact have a counter-thought to the Orange-ness. I thought to my self, well at least I'm not a 90 year old goat with no teeth.
But, in the fine tradition of always maintaining excellent relationships and being a steady representative of Fiddlerman, I maintained my composure and smiled politely.
