Hi Guys!

I guess I wasn't as aware there was a critique area until I looked closer surprised

Now that I know there's an area where we can go when we are working on things I'll probably be posting most of what I do here.

No cool video efx here, just me trying to play a tune from Suzuki book 3 which is where I'm guessing I am close in playing. I don't think I'm ready to venture outside of that level yet that's for sure.

I made a backing track for the tune which you are all welcome to use if you're at this level and on Suzuki 3. Here's the link to that. Go to "more" on SC and select download.

Here is my video for critique-

@starise very nice playing and beautiful backing track.

Do you mind giving some details how you created the backing track?

Sounding great.

Hi Bob!

I recorded the song first in piano, then I layered the parts over the piano part. The flute and lute are sampled using a medieval library that runs on the ENGINE platform. If you are aware of Kontakt, then ENGINE is similar to it. I use both on occasion. The piano is a sound that came right off my keyboard when I played it in. That keyboard has a decent piano sound IMO. Thanks for asking!

Mark, Thank you for listening. I did get some critique elsewhere on my thumb/hand. I hope to do better on thumb position.

Thank you Pierre! I like badges! Did I post this correctly? Was I supposed to critique or be critiqued? I feel more suited for the latter.laugh

@starise  that sounded great!  Liked the backing track as well.  So are you using Kontact instruments or another library?  Great post Timothy.

Well done. The trills were lovely. I'm not too familiar with the piece though, so I don't have any critique. Still a well done performance, thank you.

GregW I know you are also into this kind of thing. I'll try to tell you what it is without writing a book. Might help you to find some other sounds for your setup.

This isn't Kontakt but it is similar. Eduardo Tarilonte makes some amazing libraries mostly for Kontakt, Shenannai, Altus and a bunch of others. I have those as well. I found the older Medieval Legends library at a great price over at Best Service. I mean a "you can't not buy it price" lol. The only catch is it runs on the ENGINE platform, an old throwback from Magix and Yellowtools.

ENGINE works pretty well as long as you don't try to do too much with it.Some great sounds/deals can be had using libs for it.

Here's the older Medieval Legends Library link-

Thank you for listening and commenting. This is in Suzuki Book 3. Not sure if you take Suzuki method. This is where I found it and I like Bach's music. It has a more classical feel in raw form.

@starise thanks!  Ive looked at the Celtic Era library he has but haven't bit on it yet.  They usually do some good deals around the end of the year.  Thanks for the info!
