Currently working on getting badges to show up horizontally. Should hopefully figure that out within a week. Thanks for your patience.

I've never played another instrument before and only started playing the violin on the 4th of February. I tend to practice every day for at least 20 minutes but sometimes up to an hour. This is one of my favorite ones to practice and I know it's not perfect, but I know I'm getting better. Any constructive criticism is welcome!

Nice man. Two suggestions: there were a number of wrongs notes, not flat or sharp, but wrong, so have a listen to the music some more and really listen to what the progression is; second, just work on a few bars at a time until you can really get the intonation down, then move on to the next few bars, etc etc.
Don't be afraid to move that bow Keep at it!
On a side note, I need to find the sheet music to this so I can learn it lol.

I love this song.. I can't listen to it just this moment. ( I will listen soon) Thanks for posting.
It is some what easy but somewhat challenging.. timing makes it sound right. I think I have different sheet so I am eager to play the posted sheet.
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE this song.

Alright, so it's probably going to take a bit longer to post a new video. I've improved already, I know, but I'd like to make a well done video with no mistakes in this song before I post again. I've noticed my wrist is very tense with the bow hold does anyone have any suggestions to help with that? Any exercises you did to help loosen up your wrist a bit?

Here are a few suggestions I was taught along the way.
You can very gently use your left hand and stretch the right hand palm down and palm up (do not force the stretch).
This next one works for both hands, but hold you hand up in front of you as if you were going to do a pull-up; next, keep you hands in a shape as if you were holding a small sphere; finally, rotate your hands around that "sphere". If done fast enough and relaxed enough it will actually feel as though you have a sphere of air or energy in your hands (this is actually a Tai Chi Technique).
Lastly, just try shaking your hands out before you play, and consciously be aware of the state of your hands.
Hope this helps.

@kblankenship .. I think you are doing just marvelous on that piece. Less than two months? Awesome. Congrats. Keep posting!
more bow.. you know.. like more cow bell(Saturday night Live skit joke)
Take care, post again soon... it doesn't have to be all fine tuned and perfected to post. Post whenever you feel like it is better and you want to share your progress.

I just can't seem to make myself use more bow on this song! I feel like I have accomplished something the last couple of days though, so I'll post a current video for you guys. As before, suggestions welcome! I believe I fixed those wrong notes though I know my fingering is still off because I was trying to play at speed and I'm not sure I was ready yet. I am also going to work on crossing strings because I noticed that a lot during practice and I don't like that scratchy sound at all haha. Hope you like it!

Thanks @coolpinkone, @bobby and @Schaick for all the encouragement and help!
Toni, more cowbell is the one with Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken isn't it? Love that show.
I'm trying to learn video game/ movie music for violin because they are my favorite songs. I guess it's probably because of nostalgic reasons lol. It's difficult to find the sheet music or tutorial videos for most of the ones I want to learn though, sadly enough.

yep.. thats the skit.. so very very funny.
Keep looking around some of the violinist that record some of the youtubes for games and movies etc... that didn't have sound or music now have sheet music available.
I noticed Lindsey has some out there.
Keep playing and I think the key to staying happy and motivated is to play stuff that really turns you on musically.
Your passion and progress in Hedwig's Theme really shows because you love the song.
