Hello to all from the new guy. After reading this forum and watching the videos for a while. I decided I would like your opinion about me playing the violin.

I have been playing for a little over a year now and I do practice with my son who is taking Suzuki lessons. I'm always open to suggestions to improve.

Thank you Steve.

Very nice job, Steve; nice straight bowing, good arm and wrist movement and you are keeping your left wrist nice and straight, also your finger's are staying close to the fingerboard. Good intonation  and good posture. clap

Thank's for posting,

Keep it up.

Congrats and Bravo! Very nice indeed. You did great and you bow with what Suzuki  calls a light touch, very even and nice. Keep it up!

I suggest that you count 4 or use a metronome that has 4/4 with a different tone on the first beat.

It's perfectly fine to change the rhythm and even tempo but it should still have that 4 beat per measure feel. You can practice with the metronome and perform freely without it later taking as much freedom as you want (within reason ;-) ). It should have a better rhythmical feeling.

Well done. I enjoyed it and look forward to more posts.

Thanks for posting.

Thank you for the responses. It was good to hear/read the nice comments and appreciate the suggestion for the metronome.                                                                   I will work on getting the tempo right and post a new video.
