I'm guessing the string problem with your old violin was from the bridge being too tall. The G string should be 4-5 mm above the fingerboard at the end. The E string should be 2.5-3 mm or so above.
IMO that's really good playing for never having played anything before 10 months ago. I thought your intonation was pretty good.
Congratulations on your new instrument. It looks and sounds like a good one.

Thank, Sir. If you do decide to buy one, I don't think you will regret it. I am semi-self taught. I learned for about four months on my own, then took a few months of lessons, and now I am back to myself again.

You know I never considered the bridge being to tall an issue, but that makes perfect sense. And thank you for the compliment.
Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.
