That is usually not an issue..but is was tonight when I pressed the suck button for the 30th time... Let me have it folks... (too slow.. yes... then too fast.. yes..)

You did fine. Sure you will play with better tone and more precise strokes with more practice. For me, it is better to play my first million times through really slow with full controlled bow strokes. Then I slowly increase my tempo and beats per minute. By doing this, and I do mean painstakingly slow, I am teaching myself to keep proper bow placement, pressure and it stops the squeeking and pitch raising/lowering. Also, i am able to start keeping a beat with my foot or by "bobbing" to the music. So, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing with us.

For me it takes about 50 hits of the suck button and I still blow. A day passes and it takes another 50 hits, another day gone, maybe 45 hits etc until I reach a point of comfort with the recorder and with the song I want to record. It takes not only desensitizing yourself with the fact that you (not you, in general) look and sound aweful and you dont want to put it out there, but also the recording itself is so not normal. Makes you wonder how the news people can be so comfortable on camera.
You Dont look or sound horrible by the way, but you are always your worst critic. Give yourself the time it takes to be comfortable with the camera, memorize the tune so you dont have to think about it. Play the tune while looking around, walking around, talking to someone. (very hard, not there yet but it shows a level of playability where you really know the song). Of course you work full time and dont have alot of spare time. Keep at it! Great job.

That is such a nice tune to play on the violin> and you did a nice job of it. Its great to put a vid out of yourself like that playing. I will be putting one out soon > soon as I can get a few more notes out. Takes time and patience to put a vid out. I really enjoyed it and it encourages me to put something out there and throw myself to the wolfs. Looking forward to seeing more vids of you playing coolpinkone.

@ Late...thank you. When I watch my bow..it behaves... when I focus on other things... it wanders... I have to do that bowing in front of a mirror thing.. I just have to suck it up and do it.
@ Kevin... thank you. I do put a lot of my feelings into my playing.... My feelings are sort of jumping up and down shouting at my arms and fingers to "get it right". Thanks for the note.
