Currently working on getting badges to show up horizontally. Should hopefully figure that out within a week. Thanks for your patience.

Well here's me taking on my biggest challenge in week 5 of playing...I don't have the dynamics right and there's a bow bounce and another mistake or two. I had to practice this song for a few hours to have anything post-worthy-ish. I'd be grateful for any/all feedback to help me imrpove. The feedback from last videos (use more bow, relax left hand, etc) has already become a big part of my technique practices and hopefully it's paying off a bit.

you looked good. I'm only on EE200 book 1 so I'm not sure all that the book has taught yet but you looked really good to me. As far as what juan said about the pinky, i keep mine on the bow at all times, im not exactly sure what role it plays in the balance of the bow but hopefully fiddlerman or a more expiranced player will help with that. over all you looked and sounded great! that sounded like a really fun piece to play and i can't wait until im into book 2

Nice job, Michelle: You had some backing track or something going and it was kinda hard to separate you from the backing track, but from what I could hear and see you played very smoothly and I like the fact that you used your left hand pinky finger.
As for the pinky on the bow, it should remain there at all time's. Here's a video tutorial how to do it and the reason for keeping the pinky on the bow. He gives a pretty good explanation.
Great job, keep it up.
Ken.

Very good, Michelle! 5 weeks huh?
About pinkie discussion: I don't keep mine on the stick everytime, no way (can't imagine keeping it on the stick when playing something like "Elves dance"). It's meant to be supportive and flexible. Use it when You need it and it's up to You if You're gonna use it or not, when You don't need it ! =) My point is: use it definitelly when it's necessary, and all the other time do with it whatever You want. LOL! But that's my piont of view... I'm almost 3 years with the violin and my bow hold is still changing from time to time, hahahahaa! Maybe someday i'll be able to say: "Do definitelly that and don't do this..."
Good job! Keep it up!
