Just posted this on youtube so thought I'd share. I've been taking lessons for a few months now (finally caved in after my progress seemed to stall) - so was it worth it? You decide!

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone. :)

@Mouse it's a Fiddlerman Master with FM carbon fibre bow - a great outfit and I'm getting a lot of pleasure out of playing it!

Jim, I agree very much that there is improvement.
I enjoyed it very much and your technique looks great.

That was great!clapclap I'm getting the impression your bow distribution is more sure now.

Thanks. Yes, my teacher is very hot on using the right amount of bow for each note. In fact when I played that for him last Friday he still wasn't satisfied with the bow distribution in the slurred quavers and had me going over them stopping the bow between each note to get exactly the same amount of bow on each one. That's what I like about him - he's never satisfied - he keeps me on my toes! lol

EDIT: that was in reply to @AnnyJ but quoting doesn't seem to work any more. Also, lately my posting text box seems to have got very tall and thin - not sure if it's my problem or the forum's.

Jim, I'm using Chrome on Windows 10 and everything appears to be correct... note I quoted your last post above.

Hi @Bob, I'm using the same as you. I tried MS Edge and it's the same. Tried clearing cookies - no change. This is what it looks like -

I tried to upload that picture at first, but got an error, so it's hosted elsewhere.

Jim, the fact that Edge and Chrome are showing the same issue indicates that it's not a browser issue obviously.

Although, I doubt that it will have any effect, I would probably remove the last Windows update https://www.techadvisor.co.uk/.....s-3682074/

If this doesn't work, I would try to update the video driver. You could possibly delete the current display driver (Windows "should" default back to vga adapter) and then update it again. I've never tried deleting this driver, but according to https://nvidia.custhelp.com/ap.....display%3F you wouldn't loose video (hope!).

I don't know which hardware platform you're using, but I use a couple of older Dell Latidude laptops (E6400, E6430s) and old Lenovo laptop (Y510) and an HP desktop and some AMD 64 bit and 32 bit systems. Unfortunately (or not) I've not experienced this issue, but know these issues are REAL PAINs.

Good Luck

Bob

Thanks for that info @Bob. I think that since no other sites are causing a problem and I can still post here, I'm not going to mess with my Windows installation or graphics settings though - past experience tells me I'm likely to fix one problem and create 10 more. lol

EDIT: and of course after typing that, I checked and updated my graphics card software - no difference though.

Since this is the only site you're having problems with it might be related to the workpress plugin that is being used for posts/replys. According to the copyright at the bottom of this page that plugin is created by © Simple:Press —sp_Information.

You might try looking at other forums where they are used, many listed here https://simple-press.com/showcase/.

Frustrating it is!
