Currently working on getting badges to show up horizontally. Should hopefully figure that out within a week. Thanks for your patience.

I have recorded the video again with a different angle as suggested. The nervous have definitely kicked in on this one. Any critiques would be appreciated. It’s been about 7 months of playing.
Thank you,
Rodas

For 7 months, I think your are doing very good. I'm impressed with your control of the bow. Intonation was quite good also. I think you should get some of the Wohlfahrt etudes (start with book 1 for 1st position) and your progress will continue.
In any case keep up the good work and as they always say "practice make perfect". Maybe we don't want "perfect" ( a machine can do that), but you're doing great at this point.
Thanks

I think it's awesome
I only have one critique for this I think it's time to take off the stickers!
Your bowing is great, you can pretty much find the notes fast... why strain your eyes looking at lines at an angle?
If you agree with me, try to play this with your eyes closed. I think you've played it enough that you don't really need to look at the sheets anymore either. Try and see what happens. If you get it right it should reinforce everything you're doing and make you much more relaxed and give you more 'processing power' to focus on all the other stuff.
Cheers!
Ferenc

Great form with the bow! One thing you can work on is phrasing, and smoother bowing. Think in terms of entire phrases; instead of a "kick" at the beginning of each bow and an abrupt stop at the end of each note, try to connect notes a little more and make them flow as if you're singing the phrase. I'm making this suggestion because I think you have good enough bow control to do it.

Thanks Bob! Funny you mention Wohlfahrt. I just started that yesterday afternoon and I am loving it so far.

Thank you! You are completely correct. I have been playing in the dark lately so I am forced to not look at my hands. For some reason as soon as the camera is on I forget everything LOL

That is a great observation and it never occurred to me. I will be giving that a try later, thank you!

@ryonass - well done for 7 months.
Keep up the good work - it is such a rewarding instrument (although, admittedly, there are the occasional times I picture mine being chopped up for firewood. Haha - I know, I would never go THAT far - the limitations are mine alone - it's unfair to blame the instrument )
I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

That's 140 or so bpm (ok, possibly 70) here Mandy @damfino - LOL - I can't play that fast.... (my other foot is tapping twice per bow stroke although, it seems to be some sort of compound triplet the stick-dude is playing !)
Cool gif ! ( LOL - wasn't meant to be a thread hijack - my apologies @ryonass! )
Sorry folks - getting late in the day for me... was up and about REAL early this morning (like 3am ) - so it kind of takes its toll when I do that sort of stupid thing just to catch up with someone on SJ.. LOL Ignore me... best idea...

Very nice. I think you're doing great (especially for only 7-months). I can't think of any suggestions. You obviously have the right idea.
And I love that tune....it's one of my favorites, and now it's playing itself over and over again in my head....trying to come up with the name of it....but it escapes me at the moment.
Please clue me in. And sorry I cannot remember the name of such a well-known tune. It's funny how we frequently drive on a street in our neighborhood where we live, but might not know the name of the particular street, or not know the name of a tune we've heard many times before.

Thank you for the kind words! I hate when that happens too. The tune is “Miuet 3” from Suzuki Book 1
