Hi all.  I have found a book on Amazon regarding the repair and rehairing of bows, but nothing on how to make them.  Any suggestions?

Also, Amazon sells Resorcihol glue, but the smallest quantity is a quart at $60 plus shipping.  A pint is likely to last me well beyond my current experiments.  Any suggested sources (I have already tried McMaster Carr, my old stand by)?

Irv,

Interesting choice of glue to use, any particular reason to use a water proof glue?

Hello Mark and others.  It was the type of glue listed in L. Cocker’s bamboo bow patent (although no trade name was given) and it was extensively used in making bamboo fly rods in the era.  I am not all that happy with black joint lines, but I plan to roast the bamboo so it should be rather dark anyway.

I found a similar product distributed by aircraft spruce that is $26/pint.  Good to go on that item.
