The below two pictures show assembled and unassembled views of prototype planing form, minus the push/pull actuating bolts.  Some forms utilize steel dowels to add lateral rigidity.  I have elected to provide a channel in the lower section to provide this function.  I do not believe that the flex dedents are necessary and will delete them on the final version.  Counter sunk screws are provided at each adjustment station to prevent the action of the push bolt from deforming the soft pvc foam board material.

One wonders if this technology would be utilised to create the bow hair socket mortise using an adapted Bosch Nano chain saw or similar?

I decided to, at least initially, go with the Zimmerman style of bow head using cocobolo or padauk wood.  The bow head tip will be corian “counter top” plastic.

It was difficult to find a bead and cove router bit combination in the size needed, but I think I was successful.

Following this thread Irv. Will be very interesting. Barbara Lamb really got me curious.

I am using a five foot long piece of 2080 aluminum extrusion with a roller carriage to accurately resaw bamboo on a band saw.  The bamboo is super glued onto a piece of particle board.  The individual strips are made using another board with a series of eccentric clamps.  I am using supports made of 1/2” diameter copper tubing so that the blade will not be damaged if I make a mistake regarding support clearance.
