I replaced a tailpiece recently and remembered that when starting out with violin, I did not know how tight to set the strap.  Maybe these pics can help.  One pic is without strings attached, the other is with strings.  The plastic strap will stretch for two days.  If it stretches more than that, it is probably getting ready to fail.chinrest-011.JPGImage Enlargerchinrest-012.JPGImage Enlarger
