Great idea Stephen and welcome to the forum.

I just came back from Tucson with my wife a couple of weeks ago and must admit that Tucson is much more beautiful than I could have imagined. We loved Mount Lemmon and all the hoodoos. Also love the Saguaro Cactus. Saw quite a bit of wild life too.

Wish the convention/competition was going on at that time.

Pierre - did you have a bowl of chili at the Iron Door on Mt Lemmon? If not, you missed out! Tucson is one of the few places where you can spend the morning sunbathing in a canyon and the afternoon getting in a few runs down the ski slope.

Tucson1, you will have to fill us in on the excitement at the competition.

No but I had a coffee and a beer on the top of the mountain. :-)
My company had some home made (Though I believe they make it on the premises) pie and thought it was among the best they had ever had.

I went to the other side where the lifts are and had a piece of mint fudge. Took one bite and threw the rest away because it was too sweet. I've been avoiding sugar (all deserts and sweets) for over a year.

Am I off topic or what????

I went to the VMAAI convention for three of the four days and thought i'd fill ya in on one of the most controversial results ..

Of course results of this years event can be seen at VMAAI.com ...

In the past , gut string and steel string have been separate events due to the feeling that gut strings held an advantage ..however this year one of each tied for first place so now there is much controversy and may result in combining into a single event in the future ...

I think this will happen next year but wonder how others from different back grounds view this ...
