If I had a violin, the body length is 10 5/8 inches (between 1/8 and 1/4) and the vibrating string length is 12 inch (1/2 size), and the total length is 20.5 inches, would it qualify as a 1/2 violin?

If I had a violin, the total length is 22 inches (3/4 size), the body length is 12 inches (1/2 size), what size would this violin be?

Do we determine the size of the violin by its stop or by the body length and total length?

You mainly use the body length. Scroll length can vary greatly. Also the width of the bouts and the height of the sides, not to confuse them with violas.
