Since April 19, 2015, Fiddle Talk has been pleased to have Jim Dunleavy as a member. Jim has been very active on the forum. He has provided a lot of good advice and encouragement to members, myself included. How much do we really know about Jim Dunleavy? Well, I aim to find out a little more and see what we can uncover.

@Jim Dunleavy -

Appreciate you did this - thoroughly enjoyed your interview, Jim!

Really great to learn about your family, where you live, your thoughts on playing & how you got started with the violin!

I enjoyed your Brother's videos!

Hope to see a video of you & your wife playing something together in one of our Parties!

'Brewing beer'... my folks made "Cold Duck" when I was a teenager.  I read some people just mix wine & champagne, only I remember my folks had a lengthy process using large glass carboys and champagne yeasts.

@Mouse -

Great interview!

Jim I enjoyed reading your interview.  Shame you had to stop brewin'.  That seems like a very cool and tasty hobby.   And I really thought how your family is musical would be a blast.  Your brother has alot of content.. liked his Father o Flynns ( sure other names, just what I know it as ) for St Patricks day a couple years back.

great questions mouse!

Thanks all for reading and commenting.

@ELCBK I doubt if I'll get Carol to play in front of the camera - she's a bit shy! lol. That Cold Duck sounds interesting - some kind of sparkling wine apparently.

@ABitRusty yes John is very prolific! He started doing it seriously during lockdown when all his usual folk clubs went virtual. If you want to see my brewing site just google 'jimsbeerkit'.  I haven't updated it since I gave up, but I've handed over control of the forum to a younger guy (though I still post stuff there sometimes).
