If you feel you have a badge due you, please reply with your badge request, a link to the post you feel earns your the badge. that post or video or photo cannot have been used for a previous badge.

Please, only request badges for yourself, not for others.

@Mouse -

You went to a lot of work on all this (Thank You!), so I want to make sure I have this right.

I shouldn't have started a "Tuttles" Party because of the type of parties GregW had already started?

In other words, should GregW have started a "Traditional Irish Tune" Party instead of the 2 individual ones he did?

Technically speaking, I believe "Lilting Banshee" is an Irish Jig and "Cooley's" is an Irish Reel - "Tuttles" is also an Irish Reel.

So... should GregW have actually started an "Irish Jig" Party AND an "Irish Reel" Party?

I think it's wonderful we're getting guidelines - Fiddlerman recommended a "Party" to GregW, but think nobody really knew anything about them.

not to make a thing out of the badges and thanks @mouse for the info, but @elcbk does get one because it was from a different composer if im reading correctly.  regardless i started for what emily said which is because it was suggested by fiddlerman in the cooleys post.

@ELCBK and @ABitRusty, Elcbk will get a party badge. That was a different theme.

When I looked at the Tuttle Party yesterday, there was no one participating at the time, and to get a badge at least one person has to submit a video playing a party themed piece. I do see that Gregw submitted a video, so she will get the badge. I moved the topic as a group, not individual replies, so I did not see the replies when it was moved.

That's why a request with the link to the post that gets the badge is requested. I will catch a lot of the posts that get badges, but might miss some. i have brought just about everyone up-to-date, I believe. They have to simply put in a request here, or PM me with a request and link.

Also, the request to not duplicate a Party theme for a party, is only badge related, so that someone wanting a badge is not taking someone else’s idea. You can start any party you want, whenever you want,  but if you don’t have a Party Badge and want a badge, you really need to think up your own party theme, there are oodles of possibilities.

@Mouse -

Thanx Mouse, I was just thinking your suggestions for themes were a GREAT idea!

I could definitely see seasonal/holiday parties - e.g., playing love songs for "Valentines Party", etc... where a choice of different (but related) tunes is possible for more people to join in.

Or, even just genre parties - though this could get a little muddy. (lol)

@ELCBK

Remember, the badge requirements have nothing to do with the Party Room, you have your Party Badge, you can repeat parties. It just doesn’t seem right that someone repeat a party thought of by someone else to receive the badge after using someone else’s party idea.

i kind of like a broader allowance on requiremnets so that more people could be able to post something...and it has the benefit to others... if Stringy post a jig i havent tried and i learn it enough to post in his party, he gets the badge and i get the benefit of practicing something new..who cares if there are 20 jigs in the party room.. unless its a server space thing that is the issue..which case i totally get that..

@ABitRusty That is just to receive the “badge” so you have to think up your own theme to get the badge. You can take a theme and just put a twist into it and make it different, for the badge. If not to obtain a badge, it really does not matter, otherwise. The badges have nothing to do with the room itself, this is just badge info.

@ELCBK

Just saw this. Yes, she just received a party badge. It couldn’t be done until today because nobody posted a video to join in until today. She does have one.

Thanks for pointing it out, though. You never know what will slip out of the mind. But, in the future, the person to receive the badge is the person who must make the request. Other members are not to request badges for other members. It has always been this way and continues to be.
