Just wanted to mention...  

Since the date of the OP, I've used the 'Advanced Search' feature (on this Forum) at least once a week & have had really good luck finding topics/posts/threads I was looking for!

...but, the 'regular' Search has proved useless, a waste of time for me.

I think having topic titles that really hone in on the topic would be helpful. I have edited some of the older topics that had titles like, help needed, noob question, etc. So, try using topic titles that have the key words the topic is about.
