My ukulele is out for delivery. We will see how this goes and if I can use it for one of the things I want to use it for.

Oh, wow! I installed my Krentz magnetic modulator/wolf tone eliminator on my cello. Wow! I watched a video by someone, may have been done by Krentz. He showed how to install it and how to use it to get a different tone from your instrument.

I got rid of the wolf, and then I moved around like he said. Very nice. I didn't do too much, I have a headache, but when I am better, I am going to play around again. I noticed just a tad wolf on the open D, but it is gone from the rest of that string. I don't think I will worry about that. It is barely noticeable and might wake up another wolf if I' get too picky, so I am just going to play with the movements in the other directions, I will have to looks at the diagram that came with it, and maybe re-watch the video so I am moving in the proper directions. But that will be later.

I am relieved the two magnets connected and I did not have to go fishing for the piston end in the cello. 3 for 3 with doing that. 👍

I did receive my ukulele yesterday. I love it. I like the sound of it. I learned a few chords, but I am holding off until I get a couple lesson books I ordered. I do much better with hard copy than watching videos, only.

I did do a review this morning. I know I have had it for only a short time, but I am very impressed with this. Here is a link to the review:

Ms. Blog, good practice and playing day.

I worked on "Myfanwy" on my cello. I actually did pretty good with it. I also played, "What a Wonderful World". I will never stop playing that. I think "Myfanwy" take the same slot. I love them both, I did notice the difference with the Krentz magnetic modulator wolf tone eliminator. That was not made it be a better session than most, but I did notice it. It just felt good to play my cello today.

I also did my ukulele. What fun was that? I have a Hal Leonard book 1 for it. I like the Hal Leonard series, at least for beginning, never used it much beyond book 2. I logged in and registered the book so that I could use the tracks provided for the book.

I love my Fiddlerman Ukulele.

The tracks were necessary. I was supposed to be doing strumming patterns, but I was more strumming to note timings as I was singing the song in my mind. If a note was between beats, I strummed. I was not supposed to do that. It helps to use the tracks. I am finding myself fascinated by the ukulele, but I do love my cello. I hope that in about a year that I can use my ukulele along with my cello, viola and violin. We will see.

I did my cello this morning. I noticed that I am beginning to spot missed fingering a lot more easily now. I can tell more often if I am flat or sharp with a note, at least this morning.

I was working on Myfanwy and added about three more measures. I also did my What a Wonderful World

I then did my ukulele, which is coming along, also.

It was a good day.

As mentioned earlier, I purchased. fiddlerman Ukulele to try to learn to use with my cello, viola and violin.

I started a SkillShare class for it today. It was pretty good. I don't know why I did not think of that earlier, I do have a SkillShare membership!

It went well, killed my pad battery, so it is charging back up. It was worth it.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I'm not familiar with 'skillshare' - what makes it different from learning from YT video tutorials?

I'll probably have to give it another go - thought my Son-in-law would help one of my Granddauughters learn to play the uke I bought her (over a year ago), but he hasn't had time.

The SkillShare has PDFs to print off, extra learning material that you do not need to be logged in to use, just print it off. I also find the Skillshare videos better prepared. I have a chord sheet, chords for a song and wrote down the strum pattern in my notes. I know where I left off when I stop, like I said, organized better for me. More of a formal class. format,

They are created as a course, not just posted randomly. I know there are some courses that people create for YouTube, but I don't get my needed PDF's, and I have not found any that are as well done as I find on SkillShare. SkillShare does not have ads popping up. SkillShare does not have ads popping up. SkillShare does not have ads popping up. I pay for SkillShare, and I prefer to do that and get what I need, ad free.

For me, the SkillShare courses are just prepared better as a course. Others may not think so or need what I need from them, and YouTube works fine.

That is all I am discussing about YouTube. It suits some, actually a lot, but not me. Back to my blog. 😁

Been following your blog, had to say that when you mentioned Krentz magnetic modulator wolf tone eliminator, it immediately made me think of something from the rocky horror picture show. Good luck with the uke by the way, they are becoming extremely popular, if you haven’t seen them watch the ukelele orchestra on you tube, I saw them at Glastonbury on the main stage years ago, everyone thought it would be some kind of joke, they were brilliant, blew everyone away, they even did teen spirit.

I am familiar with the Krentz. There was one on my Goronok that I gave away. It was on it when I purchased it. I really liked it. I left it on there for Chris when I gave it to him. I also have one on a viola. It works great with my Fiddlerman cello.

I will have to check oit the ukulele orchestra. I was impressed with my course, and I think that it will work. I need a few more chords to give it a go. I learned some strums this morning that I think will work with one of my songs.

So, I did my Fiddlerman viola this morning. I went through memorized songs, mostly Suzuki songs, I then started playing What a Wonderful World. I do play that on my cello. I figured it out on my cello a while ago.

I added shifting to my cello version after I was able to play it smoothly in first position. It was after I was able to play it and scrutinize my fingering. I added the shifting where it was appropriate, either for fingering or sound. A lot of times, it just seemed natural and I went to shifting mode without even thinking about it. Open strings do sound a little different than that same note shifted onto a different string, fingered. To me, the fingered shifted note sounds fuller and softer, if that makes sense. So, I will be pleased when I can do that song on my viola with shifting some notes.

I am waiting a while before I attempt shifting on my viola. For me, it is harder to do shifting on my viola or violin. Everything is harder on my viola and violin. I think it is the way the viola and violin are held compared to the cello. The positioning of the instrument and hands suit me better on my cello.

I don't think I have a good setup on my violin and viola, either, but it is the best that I can do. They just do not seem secure and I notice it whenever I try any shifting or vibrato. I will get it, eventually.

The session went well. I was actually pleased. I heard some really nice sounding notes that were spot on, and the other notes were not too far off. For me, that is great progress. I used to not even notice when I was off, I am able to do that more often now.

I just finished an hour session with my cello. I was going to do viola later, but this was plenty.

I think I did really well. One of my goals is getting better at bowing. I really paid attention to my bowing. I did better, it is still pretty sloppy. I never hold it straight enough for as longs as needed so as not to catch the open string just lower than the one I am playing. Of course, that means that with that dastardly C string, I hit the bout. It is getting cello war scars. Maybe badges of courage? 😂

I do feel a sense of accomplishment after today's session though. I spent a lot of time with the group project cello part. I kind of tapped my foot to the speed I think it will be at, at any rate, it will be close. I have smoothed out a lot of areas and figured out better fingering for some. I always start in first position and after I am a little more familiar with the note sequences, I adjust with some possible shifting. I added shifting today. I am not sure there are enough notes allowed for the one measure towards the end. I will ask Fiddlerman about it, Right now, sometimes I stretch it and other times I add the note! LOL

After I was finished with the group Project, I spent quality time on Myfanwy. Quality time means I really really really made myself not just think of how beautiful this song is when played right, and paid attention to what I was doing, It is hard to do because I absolutely love this song. I find myself distracted with most sessions when I play it by seeing and hearing that beautiful video I have of it.

I then spent time trying to improve What a Wonderful World. I will never tire of this song. I was trying to figure out how to add that "oh yeaaaaa" at the end today, 😂 Have found it yet, I will. I only did that when I was done with serious playing.

I also tried to get Edelweiss better. It actually was better today.

So, I had a wonderful session today.

Off to make an anniversary card, three actually. I need one for my two daughters and for my stash. I need a birthday card for a brother-in-law, great niece, daughter and daughter-in-law, and a couple for my stash. Sept-Nov are busy card months.

Then I have to re-try the beginning of the sweater, the ribbing and start of the body, on my knitting machine at a different tension. Not too thrilled with the tension I used.

Then I have to work on a sock. It is giving me all sorts of trouble at the spot I am at. I am new at socks. The video that coordinates with the instruction print out skims over this part. Of course it does! Have I told you that I hate YouTube!? 😂😂😂😂

I am off. Be back later.

Was able to get another hour in on the cello this morning. I did the same songs, and for fun, tried a song I do on my viola and violin.

I did figure out the issue I had with a measure and beat counts on the group project. 😁. I was hoping I could figure it out.

My bowing was not as good today. I do have to say, in my defense, my bowing arm is sore today. I had been doing a lot of machine and hand knitting later yesterday.

Myfanwy, however, was better, note-wise and intonation-wise.

In spite of my sore bowing arm, I did do a little viola after. I wanted to see bow Myfanwy sounded on it. It does sound better in the cello. It needs that deep cello soulful sound.

Is anyone else working on the group project pre- click tracks?

I see the click-track as the most important thing to get right, the most difficult (for me) - so, I'd rather just learn with it.

If I didn't have such a hard time with the notes and timing, I would wait, but it takes a long time for me to get familiar. The minute the click tracks are on I get panicky, so this should help, in theory.

I am continuing my work on the new 2023 group project. I figured put a couple more places I was having issues. I worked on the runs. I put it ll together a number of times. I do believe I am making progress. That said, It still needs a lot of work, but I have time to get comfortable with the fingering and runs.

I also continued my work with Myfanwy. I think that I did much better this time. I can feel and hear it being played much more smoothly. I might start the next section the next time.

I also continued trying to get What a Wonderful World the way I really want it. It is too beautiful of a song to just get it "good enough".

It was a good session.
