I posted a better version of my first post of Moon Over the Ruined Castle into post 445. The first one is an mp3. I did a screen recording to make a .mov. I edited the picture part, because it is just a black screen, and made that smaller. That made the bytes small enough to be able to upload as a .mov. The sound is mellower.

Thanks ABitRusty and Mark. The input helps. I felt good when playing the version from book 3 yesterday.

I grabbed my Allen Parker Folk Fiddle off the wall early evening. I just went through my normal run of songs I have memorized. That went well. I like the sound of that violin for fiddle type music. No recording. I was just messing around.

I needed to get a birthday card done today, so that is what I worked on. It is for someone born in Feb 29, so he has a bday every 4 years. Since this is a leap year, and I remembered he was born on Feb 29, I figured I had better do a card this year.

It will take. while to get there, so I had to get it done. I can wait a couple days before doing the other 3 cards I need, so tomorrow, I can get back to my cello or violin or viola.

I was working in Berceuse, by F. Schubert, in Suzuki. I notice I have a shrill A string, yet. It is much better with the Dominant Pro Strings, but I notice it a lot in this piece. Part is my bowing, I believe. I also notice my string crossing issues are more prevalent here. I this is a setup issue, which I will get looked at sometime from Spring through Fall, reliable road condition months 😂, usually no ❄️❄️❄️.

This is the first recorded go round.

This is the second recorded go round.

This is a good piece for bowing practice, and double stops. I have major issues with double stops. Not looking for tips. It feels different in the cello than the viola and violin.

You play really good in both.  I think in the 1st one your cello sounds more open and vibrato comes through stronger.  cello just seems to ring out more in that one.  enjoyed listening!

Thanks.

I have a little 15 inch viola. It is a pawn shop save from a few years ago. It is cute, but not very strong sound, it is only 15 inches and student level, if that, so not surprising, but was priced right and cute. I am going to put violin strings in it for kicks. Just an experiment.

Well, once I paid attention to the title, it finally dawned on me. The sun rose a little slow for me with this one. I am not deleting. This was funny. Thanks for the laugh.

So, I removed a piece I was doing to learn from. I really do not like it. I replaced it with Muse From English Suite No. 3 by Bach. I am also still working on the Berceuse, by F. Schubert. They are from the same book.

I then had to make a get well card for a brother-in-law who had a knee replacement.
