hello...I'm a stage director and I am looking for some songs on violin to insert in one o my shows. The best in what i found until now is Brian Crain and Rita Chepurchenko, piano violin duet BUT ... it is a little sad. I am looking for some slow songs in violin because i transpose them in a puppet maronette show and the marionette is playing the violin. If is to fast the bow movement.... the marionette is tremble to much.....On Brian's music I have heard a lot from my audience that is a little sad the song...anyway .... anyone help me whit some not so sad slow violin songs?

As an example the marionette ....i present to you ...Niccolo

One song I know that could work is "Songs My Mother Taught Me". I think it's an original aria by dvorak, however many string players actually play it and it sounds good.

Excellent puppeteering.  There are many to choose from, however, these come to mind right away.

Meditation from Thais

Bach's Aire

The Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso

Examples:

The Lady on the far left is playing 1st violin

There are excellent musicians here who can advise you.
I am not a professional musician, I can't advice you and any "suggestions" are nothing more than some of my personal preferences. I hope I am not mistaken I just read that...

Danse mot vår-Serenade to Spring
"Serenade to Spring" is a melody composed by Rolf Løvland, originally released on Secret Garden's debut album Songs from a Secret Garden (1995). The melody is an instrumental version of the Norwegian song "Danse mot vår" (lit.: Dance towards spring), also made by Rolf Løvland. It was originally released on Elisabeth Andreassen's album Stemninger (1992)

Arioso by Bach might be good for what you're looking for. It's slow paced and has what I would call a "classical" sound to it, if that makes sense.
