@ABitRusty
Gorgeous! Beautiful haunting video and playing! It makes me want to watch the movie that this should be introducing.
Reminds me of the feeling at Tintagel Castle ruins in Cornwall during my visit on a deep, gray, blustery day.
I love the slowed back Celtic fiddling with all the nuances. I do a bit of this myself, playing Celtic tunes slowly to appreciate the beauty of all the notes. There are many dear friends in the Celtic jam I attend who only play at breakneck speed, and they take great pride in that. They sometimes think I’m a bit daft with my love of Scottish slow airs. But that’s what moves me the most.
Great job. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you @Unfretted and @mouse
i like the sound this one slower. think it fits the setting too. did you see the dragon skull with sword! 🤣
Im thinking on my next ill adjuat the sun a bit brighter. Also put too any ruins.. i was giddy and threw alot in. if i had a sink it wouldve been in there.
This was using unreal engine 5. Cant say its easy but for what i did it wasnt bad. Those of you that enjoy video, photography kinda stuff should check it out. its free.
Goal is to mix reality in with this kinda stuff eventually
all while trying to practice fiddle 😉😌

OK, @ABitRusty , this is insane!
You weren’t kidding. There really is a dragon skull and sword. I found it!
Thanks for sharing the info on Unreal Engine 5. But now my mind is totally blown!
I didn’t realize that you BUILT the castle and then RUINED it! Wow.
Feeling a bit foolish here. I was thinking, “I thought that guy’s American. Where’d he find castle ruins? Maybe they’re vacation shots. I thought he does a lot of video in his yard. Can he possibly have castle ruins in his yard?” 🤣🤣🤣
So here I thought you used some kind of image editing software. But instead it’s world-creating software. As a former programmer, that software itself is mind boggling. I can’t imagine what it took to create that software.
Glad it didn’t exist in 1969. It would give credence to the moon-landing deniers.

Yes its amzing! And whats really cool is how anyone can create with it. theyve made it fairly easy to get started in.
Actually, I built it as a relic. You start on a wire mesh type grid and build it from there. Think lego blocks without the placement limitation. Most anything can be animated...i animated the camera movement to fly through the scene. You keyframe those movements on a timeline then capture those movements as a sequence...then export as a "movie".

OMG! How COOL!
🤭... if I hadn't seen the discussion, I would've asked where you went to film this!
Your Morrison's sounds wonderful slow!
Can't wait to see where your new rabbit hole takes you... that software must be amazing.
I can see it now... GAME CREATOR... Greyhounds hunting Dragons... to Fiddle music!

@ABitRusty Awesome video! I think slowing down Morrisons jig sounds great, & works really well.
Thanks for info on Unreal Engine 5 – I was completely unaware this stuff. I watched one of their videos on the site on how it works—amazing what can be done now.
Characterize people by their actions and you will never be fooled by their words.

Wow, that completely blew me away, the vid is excellent, and I would never have thought of doing a jig slowly like that, superb playing, I will have to keep checking this blog from now on, I thought it was just chat on here, how wrong can I get, great stuff Greg.

In case anyone interested.. here are a few links that I watched to get up to speed on halloween party video..
Theres several more but these are the main ones i found most helpful. And they are not in order of importance.
and one of the handiest videos for masking without a green screen. davinci is free and i think magic mask works in the free version
EDIT..ADDED ON 11/30/2023
This is a paid plugin you can purchase in the unreal marketplace. It allows you to import real world map data from the internet and build a matching landscape.
EDIT ADDED ON 12/7/2023
Used this for the sky, sun, atmosphere, moon, fog.
Used this to create the landscape and export it as a "Height Map"
You can also use LIDAR data from usgs or other sites on the web. That means you can find a place on the Earth and import it as your landscape. Pret-ty neat if you ask me.

I think I have most of the pieces in place to create what Ive wanted from the start since finding unreal. Its taken alot of research and experimentation to figure it out but some things are starting to click and become muscle memory. I dont have to go back and rewatch a video or look up documentation.
I made this short video as a test of sorts. I know in the night portion I need to up the exposure. Down the road ill do that as a cut to another scene and camera settings I think.
Now comes a longer version with some new tunes. And get back to focusing more on fiddling and recording.
This is a 4Km landscape so i should have some different areas to explore. better than the backyard vids maybe. 😉 anyway..Im Happy with results since everything came outta me head. I guess its a place id like to find somewhere sit down and fiddle.

Very COOL!
LOVE your playing of Mist Covered Mountain! Yep, definitely love hearing your guitar with your fiddle.
Love the combination of panning and time lapse!
This is exciting! So, did you generate the scene using your photos? ...just curious cause the trees in the very beginning are kinda defying geotropism. I realize there can be natural causes, just gives me the feeling of a different camera angle - caught myself tilting my head for the 1st 9 seconds. (lol)
I was going to ask you about some free time-lapse 'mobile' apps I ran across on Amazon last week (not that they are any good) - just didn't know such things existed! ...thinking about the Grandkids with the stop motion lego stuff they've been trying.
Thanks for sharing your video!

No. I had an idea of a valley with mountains on sides. theres another flat area on the other side i want to do an ocean or lake..

nuts.. caught my geotropism 🙂 youre correct though.. its important to mimic nature if mimicking nature. they wouldnt grow that way and i overlooked that one. kinda like having a river flow up hill huh.. 🙂

When Ive done time lapse for "real".. I just use the native settings in my phone or gopro. I havent needed and extra software..other than davinci to mix the video and audio and make the video special.
