An hour and ten minutes this afternoon, mostly on Dark Island with a little Simple Gifts and Amazing Grace with improv to end things up. It's coming along and don't want to record it until I can not only play the notes, but also feel the music.

Well, @JohnG, my friend, you have come a long way, too. You have progressed so far with your playing. I have been enjoying the ride watching and listening.

An hour this afternoon. Mostly Dark Island, but also Simple Gifts, Wayfaring Stranger and Amazing Grace w/ improv, Blackest Crow, Ducks on a Mill Pond, and Blind Mary. Needed to do some other stuff today as it keeps my interest up.

@JohnG - I don't blame you. Gotta mix it up to enjoy it.

Only half an hour tonight, a bit tired from traveling into Chicago for more medical testing and getting up at 6:00am! Again, mostly Dark Island, but also Simple Gifts, Wayfaring Stranger and Amazing Grace w/ improv. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Tried something (non-musical) tonight. I used some watercolor practice pictures (just learning how to do them) and then cut out a pattern on my Cricut Maker for possible card crafting. I like how they turned out. Second picture shows what they were cut from (the top row). Second one (center), I didn't calculate the positioning properly, thus the white strip at the bottom.

If that left picture is metal @JohnG you should explore making register inserts for house hvac ducts and sell them.  they look like some of the old timey furnace vent covers ive seen in houses.   granted Id lean more toward an iron look color wise...but the designs remind me of those.  pretty good john!

@JohnG -

Very cool!  Love them. 😊

Thanks for reminding me I need to come up with creative things I can get my Grandkids involved in this next week (depending on the weather).

Feeling real bad I haven't done hardly anything with my Cricut.  It's too big & heavy to have nearby me and I don't like to ask Kevin for help - he has his own pain issues & does too much to help me, already. 😔  I'm wickedly quick/accurate with an offset X-Acto blade & metal ruler, though.

My oldest Granddaughter is very good with drawing, painting & creating story lines - they all love doing projects I've given them with color & paper.  Haven't had a lot of luck in getting the Granddaughters very interested in knitting, crochet or needlework yet - even though they found sewing by hand fun... once.  🤔 and getting to my sewing machine is out of the question for right now.

I do need to make some fine jewelry, so that's a thought.  Have to put something together from my stash of goodies - luckily have plenty of jewelry supplies appropriate for Kids, so I can help them learn & have fun.  Guess this will be my agenda for this next week, since I don't have to worry about the Baby being here.  ...dearly miss creating my own ceramic beads, experimenting with glaze recipes, raku-firing, flameworking glass beads and metal components in a torch.  Working with fire is sooo intoxicating. 😎

Sorry for my rambling, glad to see you are having fun exploring coloring photos (?) and your Cricut! 🤗

@ABitRusty - Thanks! I don't think 120# watercolor paper will work well for heating vents, but I agree that they really look like the same style (which I love).

@ELCBK - I'm still learning how best to use the Cricut and this was an experiment which I think had good results.

Did get 40 minutes of practice tonight playing the same tunes as last night plus some basic scales to try and get my tone better (in addition to improving intonation). Was a good practice session.

I had to do it, been thinking about it awhile! Added St. James Infirmary to the mix. It got played today in addition to the normal, current repertoire for about a forty minute session. Now at 13 days in a row, also every day so far this year!

@JohnG -

Very exciting!

I 💖 the St. James Infirmary Blues.

...been in the mood for a little Blues myself, lately - must be the weather.

Fairly different tonight tried La danse de Mardi Gras Cmaj and practiced a little St. James Infirmary and Dark Island Cmaj. Only half an hour, but enjoyable time!

A good afternoon session! An hour playing La danse de Mardi Gras Cmaj, St. James Infirmary, Dark Island Cmaj, Wayfaring Stranger and Amazing Grace w/ improv, Blackest Crow, Ducks on the Mill Pond, Blind Mary, Nearer My God to Thee, and some improv. I'm really enjoying Dark Island and finally started trying it with accompaniment (which didn't go all that great, but it's a start!).

@stringy - Thanks, it's due to folks like you that continue to give me support and ideas. I don't know if you saw it, but I posted an MP3 of a MuseScore rendition of Dark Island with an accompaniment in an earlier post that I plan on using in a future video.

Just listened to your recording, sounds really good, never heard that track though. Sounds like something from pirates of the caribean, or thats what it conjures up. If I still had my buran I could have recorded a drum track and sent it to you to use, but Unfortunately I stood on it one night, lol. Never used musescore myself, but it sounds good, and I am looking forward to hearing your completed track, I like the tune by the way, its quite dark and rich , which is right up my street. Stick at it you are getting very good, I watched all your xmas vids.

Thanks, @stringy. This is one of the things I like about MuseScore, I can not only transpose music and change to alto clef, but I can then have it create an MP3 file so I can hear how it should sound. If you watched all my xmas vids, it's probably more than many of my family have done! lol Thanks!

Practiced the same tunes tonight, but only for half an hour. It was a busy day, including a trip into Chicago, shopping, and dinner preparation. Almost didn't practice at all but then I thought about interrupting my current streak of 15 consecutive days!

Did an hour today! Full current repertoire which went well. Some of the tunes I'm actually able to "feel" them a bit. Much better than merely reading music.

And now, a new Cricut project. I get my wife's Kindles after she wants/needs an upgrade! Started decorating the latest one. This is from a photo I took of my viola, so means more than a stock one, dontcha think?
