@Mouse - Thanks, I'm hoping it fits well.

Tonight was definitely different with 30 minutes played. Quick run-through of The Ash Grove (VA1) and then attempting to learn The Ash Grove (VA2), then La danse de Mardi Gras, Blowin' In The Wind, and Green Green Grass of Home.

Forty-five minutes tonight with 30 minutes on learning The Ash Grove (VA2) and the rest on La danse de Mardi Gras, Blowin' In The Wind, Green Green Grass of Home, Wayfaring Stranger, and Oh Shenandoah, for the fun of it!

A good afternoon. For an hour, practiced and recorded The Ash Grove Viola Part 2 and sent it on to @SharonC to see if it is good enough to include in the group project.

Congratulations, JohnG.

You are really doing great. All you playing is really paying off. Have you ever watched earlier videos and worked your way up to the newer ones  You will see and hear such progress. Nice!

@Mouse - Thank you! As to listening to earlier recordings, my Viola Video 38 - Ode to Joy Redux from April 29, 2022 included 3 renditions from that date PLUS the version I did exactly one year earlier! Painful for me to listen to!

Tonight's practice was only half an hour with most of it learning a new piece, Summer Wind and a little bit of Simple Gifts.

Another half hour practice tonight, mostly Summer Wind, but also a little Ash Grove VA1 and Wayfaring Stranger.

Got my Group Badge for participating in The Ash Grove group project! @SharonC did a great job putting this together and creating a wonderful video! Thanks!

Got 40 minutes practice in this afternoon. Working on a new piece, Gypsy Rover, and also played Summer Wind, plus a little Wayfaring Stranger and Amazing Grace.

Yesterday's practice was for half an hour using Fiddlerman's tutorial on Holding the Bow! Figured it was about time to learn how to do it right! Played a little improv, tunes that I remembered (partially), and The Ash Grove VA1.

No practice yesterday!

Fifty minutes today playing Summer Wind, Gypsy Rover, The Ash Grove VA1, and Simple Gifts. Still trying to focus on bow hold and getting it right and not having it mess up straight bowing. Unfortunately, I seem to be having a little cramping in the right hand while doing this.

@JohnG -

Sorry to hear you're still having issues with the bow grip.

Okay, no practice yesterday or today. My wife is in the hospital after suffering a stroke yesterday morning about 1:30 am. Relatively minor in some ways, no speech problems and only physical problem seems to be her right arm. In addition, she's been diagnosed with shingles which showed up Tuesday. Spent18 hours there yesterday, and 12 hours today. Biggest problem is confusion almost to the point of dementia.

Extremely worrisome, to say the least.

Don't know when I'll be on the forum again, at least for a while.
