No such thing as unsuccessful John, every tune is a victory, thats what I think anyway.

Emily try to stay cool, heats good but it can get too much as well. I was on a tram the other week, it was 36 degrees outside, on the tram it must have easily been 45 I only lasted five minutes and had to get off, I really thought I was going ro have a heart attack.

Only half an hour tonight on the viola playing the Beatles entry. Honestly, I don't know how so many could say good things about my intonation over the last year when I use the TonalEnergy and see how often I'm off when I think I'm playing well. I got the app for my Kindle, in addition to the phone and the larger screen really helps a lot as I can concentrate on the music and my peripheral vision can still easily detect whether I'm in "the yellow or the green". Methinks it was an excellent investment.

An hour tonight, half on violin playing Down by the Sally Gardens and half on the viola playing A Taste of Honey.

Another 3 days off and it not only showed in my playing, but just plain tuckered me out!

@JohnG -

Maybe consider just trying to work a little on one tune each day.

You might be able to find time for that easier & a small routine may keep you in shape better than trying to make up for lost days.

@ELCBK - I vary it from many to few, depending on how I feel. This is supposed to fun, right? lol

Case in point, tonight was one tune on The Traveler for 45 minutes. But, I got it recorded tonight! This will also be added to The Traveler thread and comments on it should probably be addressed there.

Feelin' good now!

Well, another night off, but back for a short half hour session tonight. A little time on a party tune and the rest on Star of County Down, viola 1. Should be ready to record before Sunday (just under the wire).

A good night's practice with 45 minutes on Maureen, playing Star of the County Down, almost all with the click track. It really seemed to be promising. I had been practicing, as is normal with me, at a slower tempo, but it went surprising well and greatly increased my liking this piece. The melody really shines through at the proper tempo.

Another 45 minutes this afternoon on Maureen playing Star of the County Downs, mostly a continuous loop using the click track. Over and over again, and I think it may actually be coming together! It's becoming more like I'm playing the tune, as opposed to just playing the notes.

Got a second practice session in this evening on Maureen playing Star of the County Downs for a solid loop session with the backing track. Getting there!

An hour and half to get Star of County Down practiced and recorded. AND it's been accepted by @SharonC which really makes me happy!

Got in another half hour on The Traveler this afternoon, just playing through most of tunes that I have sheet music for. I have a few more things to do, and then I'm going to ship it off to @SharonC, hopefully by the end of the week. After playing Simple Gifts on the violin (in two different keys, G and D), cranked up Maureen to play on the instrument that I still prefer. (Sorry @Fiddlerman)

@Mouse and @Fiddlerman - Thanks, I am still really enjoying this new, fretless stage of my life. Part of that is due to the extraordinary support that I (and everyone else) receive here. I don't know if I could have stayed with or enjoyed as much without it.

Haven't practiced yet today, but I got a new music stand that is far better than the 80's era music stand that I've been using that the kids used in junior high and high school. And it was only about $15 and came with a carrying case. Steady and easily adjusted for height.

Amazing what a working stand will do, isn't it? I replaced mine a few years ago. What a difference.

Forty minutes tonight on the viola using the new stand (which I really like). It was a medley night getting back to Maureen where I just did run-throughs of Ashokan Farewell, A Taste of Honey, On the Wings of a Snow White Dove, Down by the Sally Gardens, Oh Shenandoah, Wayfaring Stranger, Over the River and Through the Woods, Gypsy Rover, La danse de Mardi Gras, The Wellerman, Wild Mountain Thyme, Dark Island, and Blowin' in the Wind. Kept an eye (peripheral vision, lol) on the Tonal Energy tuner without letting it rule my life.

It pleases me to hear that John.

When most things are getting worse, good to know that you can buy a product that satisfies you for just $15, right???

The biggest difference between products of the past and today's products seem to be the amount of material used. In some cases it's better not to have too much material in a product. 😁

No practice yesterday as I took the time to work on a sticker for The Traveler case. In preparation for turning it over to @SharonC, I am getting it ready to ship, first by putting my personal notes into the log and adding my own momentos.

Half an hour today on the viola playing Ashokan Farewell, A Taste of Honey, On the Wings of a Snow White Dove, and Down by the Sally Gardens. Spent a little more time on each piece and checked my intonation a bit more. Separately, I also spent time lowering the pitch on the fine tuners and bringing them back up with the pegs. I definitely need to order some peg compound as they are not smooth, but "click" up and down.
