I will alway bump this.  I don't recall... I think I submitted something... but I would really like to get a better clip going and practice it.

To keep interest going on this ... I think we should posts our parts and ask each other questions and motivate each other. After all regardless of when it actually gets put together.. .it is a great piece for practice and all that jazzzzz. 🙂

I'm on a roll. I still have this one on my stand. Will focus on submitting all three viola parts once "O Holy Night" parts are submitted. ( i gotta throw this out there to keep me on track...)

Way to go @Ripton. I have been doing more practice and playing.  It is inspiring to see that all isn't lost from a break and that muscle memory is real.   The sight reading  is better too.  I am glad that you have projects and you are on a roll.  Yahoo!!!!

Just checking in. Submitting all three viola parts is one of my 100 days of practice challenge goals. I'm well on my way, but not quite ready to record.  Who else has this on their list of things to do?

You know Ripton. I submitted something that wasn't great back when he was accepting submissions.  I Love this piece so much I should give it more of a try.

I am back to practicing and learning and the challenge of this one was great.

🙂

I'm not against doing it but I was pretty down on getting so few submissions.
Let's see when we get enough.

I would love to participate in this!  But first, I need to figure out how to record and get it up on the interwebs.  😉

Well, it didn't take me long to find everything I need to learn to record, right here on the forum!!   It sounds like it should be pretty simple, because my *ahem* violin, is electric.

Oh man.  I was working through the viola parts during practice last night and decided to turn on the click track and go for it. Man, I nailed it .Really wish I had the video rolling.  Will probably never get my timing down more perfect .

@Ripton - I've had those, "Wish the video was rolling" moments too. Usually when jamming with friends and just letting the soul take over. LOL

I think I will dig out the parts and try again, maybe tackle violin 1? (she says late one evening, after drinking some wine).

Why not! That, by the way, is a fine time to make promises. 🙂

My hope and plan is to do my recordings of all three Viola parts next time I'm at the cabin. If all goes well, I'll be there in another two weeks or so. I just feel the backdrop and acoustics of the front yard are far better than here at home.

@Fiddlerman can you suggest fingering for the double stops in the 1st and 2nd violin parts? Not only are my eyes crossed, my fingers are getting the same way 🙂

First position works great on Violin 1. With Violin 2 there are no double stops, rather a choice of whether you would like to play an octave above or the lower octave.

Otherwise I would recommend 1, 4 on all the octave double stops. It's doable but it wouldn't sound great.
