I once saw Jean Luc Ponty in Sacramento when he toured "Imaginary Voyage" in the late seventies.  I saw "It's a Beautiful Day" in Nevada City, CA in the early seventies and David Laflamme later in Sacramento when he toured alone.

I'm also a fan of Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Anyone else?

We have a bunch of pop music fans here. I think this is the most versatile bunch of fiddlers you'll ever meet on any site. :-)
I really enjoy Jean Luc Ponty but am not familiar with Laflamme or Creach...

If you listened to the radio a lot, you might remember Jefferson Starship's "Ride the Tiger".  That, I think, was Papa John Creach, as he was known then.

David Laflamme was the lead vocalist and violinist for the band "It's a Beautiful Day", a California rock band from the Bay Area in the late sixties.  "Donald and Dewey" was a popular instrumental tune, no vocals, that featured Laflamme playing violin.  Their big hit was "White Bird".

Thanks for the personal greeting, Fiddlerman, your website is a real inspiration.  Your offering of talent, enthusiasm and encouragement is truly without peer.
