dancingI don't know any russian, but thanks for the comment anyway!

And even though my interest is more in swing, jazz, and blues stuff, these folks give me goosebumps!

For extreme goose bumps, you might like this unless, perhaps, you know the music.  Listen to the video until the end.

Oh my gosh! Those guys playing at the end made their violins sound like space ships!

That was so funny! I'm gonna go try that now.

Me: -makes high screechy sounds on my violin-

Mom: What the heck are you doing?!

Me: Trying to make my violin sound like a space ship!

Mom: ... well, it doesn't sound like a space ship. What it does sound like is annoying!

I believe that the English name for the piece is "The Lark".  (a bird?)

However I don't think I ever heard a lark so I can't vouch for it.  smile

I thought it sounded like a bird, not a space ship...  but I don't know what a lark sounds like either!

In any case, its still cool playing!

I don't really know but I've always been intrigued with the piece.  I knew a former coworker who had a childhood of classical training in Hungary.  She told me that to be an accepted violin virtuoso in Hungary, it was absolutely necessary to perform The Lark.  So, I can just imagine a bunch of little kids trying to make those sounds smile

Fabulous! There is a band called Schwarze Augen (German Zigeuner band?) that does a nice version of this on their album Zigan-Tzigan, called "Die Lerche". Nice band.

Nice!  I can get the feel of the music even from the clips and it sounds great to my ear.  I am always reluctant however to buy from an unknown site using a credit card.
