When I start playing that for an exercise I will quit my day job!  exactly

@LB    Maybe the difference is that she is using a shoulder rest.  (I think).

@Aleive    Prima Donna Violin Soloists always look mad.

Oliver, I have a confession. I have returned to the shoulder rest! I loved the freedom without it but started developing some neck pains!frown

That's OK.  I think the soloist is using one also.

So both of you have a violin, a shoulder rest and a bow which is as good as it ever gets so stop complaining and practice !  (and don't blame her rosin either!) (or her chin rest !)

@Aleive she does look mad, but I don't think a smile would flow well with the tune and type of music she is playing, that would look a little creepy (I can just picture her giving a creepy smile). Now, if we could find a video of someone playing a sad tune while in tears, and one with a happy tune while smiling all over the place).

But seriously, I think it's about time for me to try and practice some vibrato tonight after work.
