@Gil - good point man - until I read your post, I hadn't thought about it that way myself - I'm always ready to make a total 4$$ of myself and just post/submit stuff (LOL) - but - you are probably correct - in the absence of a specific deadline - everyone - beginners especially - is/are holding back to "do better" - we are ALL so self critical and just KNOW when you record - "I can do better"...  yup - that maybe has something to do with it...  good point...

... and @Fiddlerman - there's maybe something in what Gil says - I can "see the conflict" in folks minds - oh - "we still have time to go - I'll just practice my own stuff I'm working on and I'll get back to Thaxted/the project etc later" .... hmmmm..

Although I initially submitted only a v2, I only got around to doing a v1 part because the project was still open - although I had kind of expected to "run out of time"

Honestly, (and speaking from a true beginner's perspective) I really just don't know what's best - fixed deadline or open ( or, for a project that "becomes problematic" for whatever reason  - maybe have a "longer term deadline" while the "sort of easy and fun projects where nobody cares too much about being 'perfect' " can kind of overlap the longer term on-going projects - really I dunno...  it's just thoughts - I know VERY well that I post stuff that is "beyond - or at the limit of - my capability" - but - then again I have no shame ! LMAO )

I was happy enough with Thaxted having submitted a v2 only - and  then I was "relieved" to see I had the opportunity to work on the lead part - so - it's a hard call to make I guess...

Whatever happens, I have no doubt whatsoever, this will sound GREAT with all the contributions from our members here, - for sure !!!!!  And so looking forward to the final mix !

Yup... all cool ( and P.S.  slept for 14 hours - feeling "normal" again LMAO )

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh - guntohead.JPG

I would need a hard and fast deadline to complete much of anything! If I don't have that proverbial "line in the sand", I'm the worlds best procrastinator.

There's always something that gets in the way unless that something you're working on IS the thing that's in the way. LoL

gingerbreadhousechristmascandlechristmaswreathsanta3Yes Toni, I'll activate them right away.

How about "We wish you a Merry Christmas" Deadline will be Dec 1st.
What do you think? Want something more complex or would that do the trick?

@Fiddlerman  Thank you for the Holiday emoticons. :) christmaswreath

I am good with We Wish You a Merry Christmas, or other suggestions.

I hope all of our newest and oldest members feel happy to join in and play.  So perhaps simpler would be good as everyone gets so busy during the holidays. christmascandle

Should we start a new thread?... only 3 days until November......

 His name is Zakk, and he's absolutely adorable.

But I'm also happy to see the Thaxted project nearing completion.

Yay!

Some news about Thaxted. I finished mixing the audio and am pretty happy with the result. Here is a screenshot of the 47 tracks on the mix. I purposely hid the file names in the scroll because some of them have the real names instead of usernames and I don't share that information unless it's OK with the members.

The red color at the top are the 1st parts
Yellow = 2ndGreen = 3rd
Pink = 4th

The mixes after that are where I'm sending the output busses to mix.

This took me at least 8 hours. :)
Next step is to add video. Yeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaa!!!!

Just a few shy of half the goal. Have we ever had that many before or did we break a record?  47 seems like is quite a lot.
