Hi All,
This site was the first resource I found and is already turning into a great community for me. I got my Cecilio Electric (CEVN-1) a couple of weeks ago from fiddlerman and have been working through tutorials and getting lots of support on chat from day one.
I played 3 years of piano and a bit of clarinet until age 13. I haven't played an instrument or read music in 33 years but that tiny foundation is helping me. Yes I'm that old I have a life-long love affair with violin (and cello) and am wondering what took me so long.
I love quite a few styles of music, and although I'm initially focused on violin, I'll branch out to various fiddling styles eventually. As an Acadian (ancestors of 'Cajuns), it's in my blood! Family gatherings will be more fun once I develop some skill I love classical, opera, jazz, blues, folk, some bluegrass, rock but metal most of all.
Loving this new journey I'm on! Looking forward to getting to know you all better and learning and sharing in this community.

Hi we met last night.
I am wondering why it took me so long too. It might have been the expense of the instrument in my case!!
