I'm a beginner with one lesson under my belt. I bought a Yamaha V5 for my Xmas pressie in October and it spent a couple of weeks at the luthier getting a bridge and half decent strings and a darn good clean. She sounds great when my Grade 6 nephew plays her but it has to be the hardest instrument to sound nice at this stage. I'm here for tips and to share the journey with my peers.

Every day is an improvement on the last.
I think that's my favorite thing about learning to play so far myself, there's SO MUCH rough time but hitting the right position, getting a good bow, remembering the next few notes in the song without having to check with your reference, they all add up! I just realized last night I can play "go tell aunt rhody" by heart and only some slight bowing issues. when your mental "song book" can be counted on one hand, each of those is important lol!

Welcome to the club of delight and frustration! Just kidding, though there are many days learning can be frustrating, the journey itself is very fun and rewarding and this forum is a great place to share that journey.
