I've received my violin from KK Music. It only took 10 days, surprise! All good, nothing broken. Of course, I was just getting dressed for my wedding, so the violin sat with the lid open overnight to let out the smell, and this afternoon I've started to tune it. This is difficult for me because every time I turn the pegs it hurts my hands, and every time I got to the last string, the rest were out of tune again (same as my other violin when it was new). Hopefully they will start to keep their tune before too long. I had a bit of a play with headphones on, sounded ok to me, but was surprised to hear my daughter-in-law say it sounded good to her too. I thought she wouldn't hear it because it's a 'silent' violin!
Now that the wedding is over, I'll cut my fingernails and get back into practising, I might miss the international project this time, but I'll try to keep up the practice and be good enough for the next one.
BTW ... our wedding was absolutely beautiful.
If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

Ok, here's a quick update on the Cecilio electric ... yesterday I had the tuning great for about an hour before it all went sloppy. This morning when I began tuning again, one of the pegs broke ... just split in two!
Quick email with photos to KK Music requesting a new peg, the reply within 5 minutes was: It's on it's way!
How's that for customer service? I hope I don't have the same problem with other pegs, is there something I can do to reduce the tension on the pegs, because they're very very tight? I'll probably want to change strings at some stage fairly soon, and I don't want any further mishaps.
BTW ... while I was playing yesterday I absolutely loved the sound I got, and the lack of sound outside this room.

My violin is still all good. I have no idea if it is in tune. I am using audio tune to try and get them in tune, but it also picks up the noise of my fan in my laptop, apparently laptops have the range of a violin as the fan noise kept on getting in tune.
I am planning to get a cable to the computer, so I can just have the violin playing instead of everything else.
I am also learning the expert level song, twinkle twinkle little stars and at the same time learning how to read music.
