Hello there,

My name is Alexandre, and i am a 21 years old french student. I am currently living in Denmark in a city named Aalborg for my studies.

I started to learn violin when i was young (about 7 years old) but i did not have the will to continue more than one years. Even if i stopped learning violin, i still managed to love this instrument through a lot of different types of music. Vivaldi should get my award of the most beautiful song ever and this music, all over the years, successfully hanged me to violin.
Recently, more music styles like videogames (), or even hip hop () did tend to make me regret the time i stopped violin.

That is why, for my 21st birthday, i dedided that if i liked this musics so hard, i should start playing them, and not only listen to them. I asked people in my family to get me music theory books, and violin methods. Yesterday i crossed the line, buying a stagg evn44 bk. The main reason to buy a silent violin is that i want to be able to practice when i want to. This problem was one of the reason which made me stop when i was young, because i was hurting my parents and brother ears !

Even if i have a violin practice book for now, i was looking all around the internet to find some good advices, and maybe some demonstration of violin, and i found this website. First of all, i really would like to thanks fiddleman to all the great video he made, because it really makes me impatient to receive my violin to begin to play.

Moreover even if english is not my natural language, i decided to register on this forum to speak with other violin players (and maybe some people as new as me ?) !

Anyway, thank you fiddleman, and hello to everybody reading this post !

Welcome Alexandre,

I'm sure you will learn a great amount here.  People don't judge here at all but they will tell you what you are doing wrong and how to fix it and they will tell you what you are doing right and praise you for it.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask

Thank you for your warm welcome !

I am excited to begin to play again violin. Just got the confirmation email that my instrument is on his way héhé !

@Mustang : Yes, i found it incredible too. I really see lindsey stirling as a growing violin star, and i can't wait until she makes new videos.

Anyway, nice to see that you guys did respond in french although i will not force you to do it because french is difficult to speak :D (but you too guys master it near perfectly !).

Can't wait to share with you my beautiful (devil) violin playstyle.

Alex.

What is with all the people named Alex. I don't get it.. I should change my name from Aleksander, and become Alphonso Alighieri or something like that. I am pretty sure there aren't too many of those out there :P

Nah..

Welcome dear brother-in-name. I hope you find this place hospitable^^ I am afraid I cannot provide a lot of help as per now. As I started a month ago. I cannot read notes. And tomorrow I will be without a violin for some time :P

Anyway. I wish you the best of luck! And again: Welcome!

Yeah! Lindsey is a really good violinist. clap

I don't think you could force me to speak French. I speak French because I want to!

I must use my French if I want to speak it fluently one day. laugh
