Hi everyone I'm Rob Cromack, hailing from Phoenix, Arizona. I'm 43 and a disabled Marine. I just started playing with an instructor last month and I am really excited. I have always enjoyed the sound of the violin. I have a lot of time on my hands and look forward to learning! I have a rental violin and just yesterday purchased some items from the fiddlershop. got a shipping confirmation today and reading a lot of posts already, people here seem sincere and welcoming. Thank you - Rob

Hey @Rob C , welcome to the forums and make yourself at home! I'm pretty sure you'll get learning in no time, specially having an instructor. You can always count on the folk here in the forums for any troubleshooting of jaw-flapping you might want to do.
Skype: augustoad Email: augustoaguieiras@hotmail.com Phone number/whatsapp: +55 42 9861-4084. I'd be happy to talk anything fiddle-related to anyone! :)

@Rob C - welcome ! All sorts here, raw beginners, late-starters, intermediate and advanced ( I'm just a little bit beyond the "raw beginner" stage ! ). Everyone's real helpful and it's a great place for exchange of thoughts / ideas on all aspects of music and techniques for violin/fiddle. I have learned a lot. Never hesitate to ask questions!
Cheers, and enjoy your journey with the instrument !

I seriously recommend not copying my mistakes. D'oh -
Please make your own, different mistakes, and help us all learn :-)

Welcome to the forum Rob,
One thing this forum is good for is motivating people.
What kind of music do you like and would like to play eventually?
Thanks for the support at FiddlerShop
I just received my first order the FM cf bow. Very fast and thanks for the note on the peg dope. That was for the Cecilio electric I ordered. I was unsure what the pegs would need to turn and stay. Wanted to be prepared. We don't have many violin outfitters here in Phoenix!
I really enjoy music in every genre I've ever heard. I was fortunate enough to travel all over the world and experience music from different cultures. It's hard to give a definitive answer on the future. I do like classical. I love the precision and projection of symphony orchestra, I also love the addition of orchestra or even just strings to pop/rock pieces. Even sitting around with friends have a good time playing. we will see where the path leads.
