I'm glued to the Fiddlershop website, in search of the perfect upgrade to my current set-up. I've been playing violin/fiddle for just over two years. I spend an hour a week with a teacher who uses the Suzuki method and supplements the books with all kinds of other fun stuff. She also leads a junior orchestra. I've just been promoted from second fiddle to first!
I saw the 2024 Holiday Group Project which led me here. I've printed the Violin 1 and Violin 2 parts and will give them a try this evening.
Looking to learn all I can, and make some new friends.

@Jill -
Welcome to the forum!
Will be exciting to hear more about your fiddling!
I know you'll find everything you want for an upgrade at the Fiddlershop.
Btw... besides the Christmas Project, there's also 'parties' in The Party room! Just record yourself playing and post them to join in any party.

@Jill Welcome to the Forum!
At two years in, you've gotten through the rough stuff (how to hold the bow, how to get a sound out of the darn thing, etc.,)--congrats on your step up to the 1st violins!
Since you've got some group practice with the junior orchestra, you should have no problem with the group project. Following the rhythm in the click track is really important, but since you've played with others, you should do just fine

Thank you, Sharon.
I've been practicing with the click track, which really helps with the counting. I've just about got the first violin part polished (which is easy because it's a familiar melody). I'm challenging myself to play the second violin part too, which still needs a bit of work.
