Hi there, folks.
I've played guitar for years and have convinced myself that learning violin would be my next challenge. I purchased an inexpensive fiddle (Silver Creek 5) online from a guitar warehouse (first mistake). I should have peeked in here first...
I'm now searching locally for a teacher to show me the basics: Posture, bow grip, bow pressure (if any), applying enough rosin, etc. I tried by just watching the plethora of videos online but have yet to play a coherent note, plus tuning is a struggle.
I'll get there eventually!

Welcome to the forum, you will find lots of other guitarists as well as banjo players and the like on here. I myself only took up fiddle as a challenge, which it is, but a very, very rewarding one if you persevere, ask any questions and someone will give you an answer, no matter how stupid you think the question is👍
Cant beat a sunny day
