Originally there are no lyrics. But the Norwegian book and songwriter Torbjørn Egner wrote a song called "The parrot from America" with the exact same melody
It starts around 27 seconds into the video you just played
The lyrics are something along the lines of
This is a parrot saying he is from America :3 It is really cute, truth be told. And while the melody isn't precisely the same. It is a fact that it was based on this tune
Just goes to show how famous this rant is

No kiddin!!! Thats really cool, thanks Aleive.
I forwarded the link for the song and vid to my long time friend/musical sidekick Bill last week. Topic line was "Tall skinny guy plays Morepeth Rant on new electric fiddle", he knew who it was right away, I`m sure!
He only does the internet thing at work, and so had not seen the video yet. But we did talk over the weekend and was respectfully reminded that the title was "Morepath" Rant, that`s how we pronounced it back when. To which I responded that according to all net sources it is indeed Morepeth Rant. I`m sure he will find your info on the song to be quite interesting! Thanks again!

Welcome Dan, what a fantastic first post. I also just got an electric Cecilio, I also changed the tail piece and strings. Although not having any luthier experience my self I was lucky that Pierre was kind enough to sort it out for me first before posting it.
I love folk fiddle, it is the reason I decided to take up a musical instrument after 30 years of claiming musical ineptitude!
Hey thanks Samuel .... and regarding folk/celtic/appalachian/ethnic music, I remember being hooked on it watching a really great Contra Dance band, Yankee Ingeunity that used to play to play in Concord MA as far back as the early and mid 70`s. I remember watching their fiddlers and just being transfixed by bow work.
Good to hear of folks starting later and getting back into music after a number of years!

Hi Dan! Welcome. An excellent video. That gave an opportunity to see your first video - Angel Point - Grand Canyon.....
Looking forward to your posts on recording. Thanks for the video(s).
Thanks Suresh, glad you saw Angel Point too. That`s my own personal favorite. It was the first song I have done that really struck me emotionally. Just the power of the last verse and the images from what, for me, was the best vacation of my llife.
