hi, i never played violin before, but i started on guitar and switched to keyboard. i started playing guitar when i was 15 and switched to keyboard at 24. am not especially good, but i've stuck with it.
i'm not really interested in performing in front of people but i like to record things and draw music in photoshop. i've done about 70 compositions so far, mostly church type music
i have a myspace artist page but i'm mostly self taught http://www.myspace.com/mikeshelper
p.s. i don't have a girlfriend if anyone is single i'm available

here's a picture of me and a few other files i made. the black numbers on the keys are which fingers to use, and the red numbers are the harmony.
i colored the parts the left and right hands play with different colors. it kind of works best writing it out like this if most of the notes in the song are played evenly like in some church and baroque music.
right now i'm trying to draw out Bach's fugue 12 in F minor (book 2). if anyone wants to see it i can post it when i'm done if u are single

Mike this is really great stuff. Are you an engineer or scientist? The music is very innovative and interesting. Do you think you might like to learn the violin playing?
Funny comments too! I think the best place to meet people is right in one's home community where you are? But I will pass the word along just in case!! And there's no better dating material than a music composer!

Hi, thank you I work for a printing company in fort lauderdale. I got a GED... I took about 10 music classes in college, but I never got any degree.
I wasn't ever really that naturally talented, I started learning guitar when I was 15, and started learning the different modes, then I went to a community college in detroit when I was 24 and took 2 semesters of music classes, I took a few more in 2010, but I live in Fort Lauderdale now.
I was mainly interested in rock and blues type music when I was younger, but when I went to college I took music literature and some other classes that got me interested in more things.
I make all my files in photoshop, I have mostly done choral music and Bach so far in it. I'm mostly self taught except for the college classes. I've tried private lessons a few times, but it never worked out.
I have a lot of church hymns and minuets that I've drawn out like this, if you want some I can email a few to you.. I usually print them on 11x17
I've never played violin before, I like a lot of the music though. I figured out a lot of the patterns because of what I knew about guitar. If there was any violin with frets on it I would probably do a lot better with that

Greetings Mike. Welcome to Fiddlerman forums. Nice bit of work you have going there. I was looking over it trying to figure it out, then it hit me. Its pretty easy to read once you see the whole thing not in miniature on a forum screen. Your very own tablature.
As for you being single, once we started playing the violin, even us married guys are single. Our wives call our violin the "other woman". So, we're reduced to being violin/viola geeks.

hi, thanks one of my neighbors around the block told me about the site, they both are professional musicians.
i know how to read music, but i can't play it as i read it, so i write it out like this to try to work around that.
i actually stopped playing music for a real long time until i got interested in photoshop. they give us free serial keys at the job i work at. i've been messing around with it for a few years now.
i would like to try violin someday, i wrote out a lot of the scale patterns for it. i'm more successful at playing keyboard than i was on guitar. i could play a lot of chords and scaleson guitar, but something about the layout of the instrument kind of bothered me, so i never really got into playing too many songs on it. it was kind of frustrating
this pic is a Major 7th chord shape that i charted out in different positions on guitar, and i tried to do it on violin too... i had to draw imaginary frets though. i am kind of obsessed with drawing the chromatic scale behind everything.. it just makes me feel more secure lol. i don't have relative pitch or anything so it helps me visualize the patterns more.
if there is a chord pattern you would like me to make for you on violin let me know. i don't have any friends that play music, so i just do stuff with music by myself.
