Dunlop "Tortex" shark fins here.  The orange ones, mostly.  Or just bare hands. LOL

 

Standard notation will come together when you start using it.  It is still not s good as tab for some instruments, in my opinion, because tablatures are specialized for the particular instrument and can show some information better.  But use standard notation for what it's good for, use tab for what it's good for and it works out well enough.
