I have been playing for over 5 years now. I've had a mix of in person lessons, videos and self taught. I have many bad habits I've learned while being self taught and have sought out in person lessons to teach me the proper ways, but thanks to the Pandemic of 2020, there have been many obstacles.
I have been lurking here for a bit. I participated in the Amazing Grace group project here, but I noticed that I havent received my Badge for that yet???? HELP ADMINS
I am excited to participate in the Christmas project this year and plan to submit several parts.
Thanks to Fiddlerman, the staff and admins. You have a great web site. I love your videos and I have made a couple of purchases from Fiddlershop and must say your service and prices are UNBEAtABLE! Thanks for being there for us

Hi Arkmaverick!
I knew (and visited) a couple of great guys stationed at Little Rock when I was in the Airforce. That was quite a while ago! (lol)
I'm laughing to myself, about bad habits, thinking I'm constantly trying to keep bad habits from taking hold - some days better than others. Figure at least I'm not playing with my "Mortimer" across my lap like a dulcimer or on my hip... well I don't sound too bad.😁
I've slipped into a couple bad ones & you are probably aware it's definitely easier to start right instead of unlearning/relearning. Once I got to the point where I felt I corrected them, made me happy all my hard work was worth it. I do have a hard time staying focused, oh well.
What kind of music do you like to play?
I'm sure @Fiddlerman will award you your "Group Project Badge", soon - now that you've asked.
Welcome to the Fiddlerman Forum!

Emily, Billy G, and Mouse thanks so much for the warm welcome. I look forward to becoming a more active participant in the forums here! I most definitely will be playing in the upcoming 2020 Christmas project. Emily, I play a lot of Christmas tunes (LOL) and entertain at Nursing homes and Senior Adult ctrs, (well at least I did the last two years....this year may be a bit different....). I played some open houses and Holiday festivals as well as even busking on the street a couple of times last year. This is what I do:

welcome to the forum Mike @arkmaverick ! I cant watch your videos since not a facebooker but would like to see sometime. Ill get around to your spark blues video when am able to get back on wifi. interested in how that little amp sounds. From what Ive seen and read it looks like a good tool to have if one was needing to play live.

@arkmaverick -
Such a heartwarming video for me!
If I ever get back healthy enough, I always thought about going down to the Detroit VA Medical Center to play. I've seen/heard a harpest and a classical guitarist performing there.
My Grandmother would entertain at Senior Centers and Nursing Homes, especially around Christmas - red dress with white fur collar & cuffs! She played the piano and passed around the words of Carols, just in case someone forgot - got everyone up and dancing a little, too.
To me, Christmas is just around the corner!
Thank you Mike, for sharing.
