Hello all. I live on a mountain in the southern interior of Beautiful British Columbia. I started playing viola in 2011. I could not read music and thankfully had more perseverance than common sense! I was in my 50s at the time and have really small hands, but fell in love with the sound. I borrowed a viola for four months and then bought my own. It was a fairly good viola and I am still playing on it. I now play at an intermediate level, but there is so much more to learn. I take one hour lessons 3x a month from a wonderful, patient (so necessary!) teacher. Hoping that the Christmas project continues next year as I just found out about it today. Looking forward to discussions and tips, meeting new people, and having fun.

@Annette T -
It's GREAT that you found us!
I love Viola & started older, too - I have a 5-string Viola and a 5-string Violin. In fact, I just recently removed my chin rest to have more freedom in playing my Viola (I had previously experimented playing without a shoulder rest).
I can't wait to hear what kind of music you like to play and I'm sure you'll be able to offer us all some help, too!
Besides the Fiddlerman Group Project, other members have put together fabulous Group Projects during the year! They are easy to join, so keep an eye out in the Start Your Own Project Here Section for when new future projects appear.
