Just joined, been self taught for a year and a half as I can’t afford a teacher. Took up the violin as a challenge, I have played guitar for thirty five years and I live near Liverpool, I am going to post a video of me playing in the video section, any advice from anyone is welcome, I struggle with absolutely every aspect of violin, never imagined it would be so difficult, but that is what I like a challenge.

Plenty of us are self-taught adult beginners here (me) - many were/are guitar players (not me).
I saw your video & think your hard work has really paid off!
There are many GREAT tutorials made by Fiddlerman here. Also, some posted by us members.

I like all forms of music, folk rock, blues anything really, I like a lot of Irish music these days. Used to go to lots of festivals at one time, but prefer hotels now, 😉

haha stringy..yeah I like the great outdoors as well but anymore after being out all day..a shower and good bed is required to end the day.

I also like all forms of music. I was one of the only violinists in the orchestras that listened to Rock and Pop as well as every other genre.
I was the one who would jam if someone wanted to, though my folk chops are not very good. LOL - I sound way too classical when trying to play folk music.
