Hello. I just joined the forum. I have always wanted to learn violin and at age 55 have decided it's now or never. I am a guitar player of 42 years and am hoping I can translate that musical and technical knowlege to the violin. I'm looking forward to learning what I can here and asking some dumb questions along the way.

WELCOME ABOARD @Guitarman !!!! Similar story here ( but I have about 6 years on you before I even started fiddle and now only closing on 2 years-in to it ! Long time ( hmm how the years go by... ) player on guitar and other instruments - and now I love the violin ( well, my preference on violin is fiddle-genre here ) - just wish I had picked up fretless bass earlier in my otherwise wasted-life - and I may have had a good-starter-for-ten - LOL .
Have no fear - there ARE NO dumb questions - ask away - all here to help
Best wishes with your new journey, and really - trust me on this - it will be a blast - especially on this fiddlerman.com forum - you can't lose....
