Hello all,

I am a relatively new violinist, so please forgive any ignorance that may follow. I am trying to locate a good location to acquire sheet music particularly film score sheet music. I have so far been unable to find any decent sources aside from some things on musescore. I would much prefer to not have to buy books that I cannot determine what music is in it aside from the cover. I have no qualms about paying for sheet music or having to transcribe (I think its called transcribe) from one instrument to the violin. I would just listen to the music and work it out, however, so far that has proved to be extremely difficult at my current experience level. If anyone have any locations to where I might find what I am looking for I would appreciate it. Currently I am interested in finding music such as Hans Zimmer's A Small Measure of Peace, The Last Samurai, James Howard Newton's Flow Like Water from The Las Airbender, and anything else of a similar style. Thanks in advance

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum.

I have found some movie soundtracks on Amazon, Phantom of the Opera, Titanic, Twilight, and a few others.  I also found The sound of music at a flea market.

Good luck in your search and Welcome.

Cheers

Toni

I usually search Google Images and always add Sheet Music to the end of the search along with the music I'm searching for.

For some stuff I like to search the New York Philharmonic Archives.

One of the best places to find Public Domain sheet music is of course http://imslp.org

Good luck and welcome to the forum. :)
