Hello,

I just joined. I've been playing on and off, mostly off, for about 30 years. I had a few violin lessons as a kid and then a few play by ear fiddle lessons. Aside from that, I am self taught. Started playing a lot more in the last year. I stumbled across this site and thought I would join. I play mostly old time fiddle music but like most all of it.

I'm sure you will have a great time here. I'm a 'mature' self taught, by ear player myself and have enjoyed my 2 and a bit years on the fiddle.

You'll find heaps of helpful people and learning resources hare.

Been on a plateau for a long time just getting going again. I'll try to play something when I figure out a good way to record it. I converted an old student VSO to a foam filled solid body and have been experimenting with some homemade piezo pickups. One rendition is showing some promise. I will try to record something when things slow down a little.
